Submitting a Feature Request or Bug Report
We cannot guarantee that any requested features will be implemented in future versions of our software.
However, we do evaluate each and every suggestion and do our best to incorporate those that will be useful to the majority of our user base.
We strive to ensure that no bugs are released in any of our software products. However, this is nearly impossible for even the best software producers to achieve.
If you should happen to encounter a bug in any of our software products, we believe it is our responsibility to fix it. As software consumers ourselves, it absolutely frustrates us to spend our time and money on software and then find we cannot get it to run properly.
Providing our users with a way to report bugs shows that we are committed to releasing high quality software products, and allows us to focus on creating the most stable applications possible.
Please utilize our online feedback form to submit a feature request, or to notify us of any bugs that you may have found.
Distribution Permissions
Shareware Solutions allows and encourages all web sites, on-line services, shareware disk vendors, CD-ROM vendors, bulletin board systems, and end-users to freely distribute the trial versions of our software.
If you wish to distribute our software, you must obtain the most recent version from here prior to doing so.
Registered versions may not be distributed under any circumstance.
How do I start CalendarPro?
CalendarPro may be started in one of four ways:
-
Automatically when Windows starts. (This will only occur if
the "Start CalendarPro automatically when Windows starts" option was
selected during the installation process.)
-
Using the Start Menu. (Use
Start-->Programs-->CalendarPro-->CalendarPro OR for Windows XP use Start-->All
Programs-->CalendarPro-->CalendarPro)
-
Double-clicking the CalendarPro Desktop icon. (This icon will
only be available if the "Create a Desktop icon" option was selected during
the installation process.)
-
Clicking the Quick Launch icon next to the Start Menu. (This
icon will only be available if the "Create a Quick Launch icon" option was
selected during the installation process.)
Once CalendarPro is successfully started, a calendar icon is placed into the
system tray. (The system tray is located in the lower right-hand corner of
the screen near the clock.) To display CalendarPro's main calendar window
you must either double-click on this icon, or right-click on it and choose
"Launch CalendarPro..." from the pop-up menu.
How do I create a reminder?
Creating a reminder involves three easy steps:
-
Create a note for the day you want the reminder to be displayed on.
Double-click on the day of your choice. This will launch Notepad, using a
filename determined by the date itself, so that you may type in a message for
your note. After you have finished composing the note, save it and exit
Notepad.
-
Ensure that CalendarPro is configured properly. The "Remind me if I
have a note saved for today's date" option must be turned on in order for
CalendarPro to display reminders. (See How can I
configure the way CalendarPro behaves? for detailed information.)
-
Wait for the day to occur. The reminder will be displayed for you
the next time CalendarPro is started on that day. If CalendarPro is already
running prior to the reminder date, the reminder will will be displayed for
you at midnight when the clock rolls over to the day in which the note was
saved for.
How can I share CalendarPro over a network?
Configuring CalendarPro for network access involves five easy steps:
-
Designate the 'server' machine.
The server machine will be used to store the note files so that the client machines
(as well as the server machine itself) may access them. You only need to designate
one machine as the server. Keep in mind that it does not have to be a high end server
class machine, any workstation will do.
-
Create a shared folder on the server machine.
If it hasn't already been installed, install CalendarPro on the server machine.
Then create a network share for the C:\Program Files\CalendarPro directory (assuming
you chose the default installation directory) and give it a share name of CalendarPro.
Ensure that the option to give network users the ability to change files is enabled (in
Windows XP this is accomplished by checking the "Allow network users to change my files"
option on the Sharing properties dialog).
-
Install CalendarPro on each client machine.
Make sure that the 'Create a Desktop icon', 'Start CalendarPro automatically when Windows
starts', and 'Create a Quick Launch icon' options are all unchecked during the client machine
installations. These options need to be unchecked because the client machines will be executing
CalendarPro from the server instead of from each client's local hard drive.
-
Map a drive from each client to the CalendarPro share on the server.
We suggest using N: (for 'notes') if available, but any drive letter will work just fine.
Ensure that the 'Reconnect at logon' option is checked.
-
Create a CalendarPro shortcut on each client machine.
Create a shortcut that points to N:\CalendarPro.exe (assuming you used the N: drive letter) to
launch CalendarPro from. You may also create a shortcut in the Startup folder if you would like
CalendarPro to start each time Windows starts.
What options are on the Tools menu?
The Tools menu has the following options:
-
Restore size and position. Choose this option if you want
CalendarPro to revert back to its default window size and position.
-
Return to today's date. Choose this option if you are currently on
a different date and want CalendarPro's main calendar window to return to
today's date.
-
Options... Choose this option if you would like to configure the
way CalendarPro operates. (See How can I
configure the way CalendarPro behaves? for detailed information.)
How can I configure the way CalendarPro behaves?
Launch the Options dialog by clicking "Options..." from CalendarPro's "Tools"
menu. You may then configure the way CalendarPro operates by setting the following options:
-
Remind me if I have a note saved for today's date. If this option
is selected, and you have a note saved for today's date, the note will be
displayed for you when CalendarPro starts. (See How do I
create a reminder? for information on creating and displaying reminders.)
This option is on by default.
-
Remember window size and position of last execution. If this option
is selected, CalendarPro will save its window size and position information.
CalendarPro will use this information the next time it is launched, resizing
and positioning the main window according to this information. This option is
on by default.
-
Show splash screen on startup. If this option is selected, the
splash screen will be displayed each time CalendarPro is launched. If the
splash screen bothers you go ahead and turn this option off. This option is on
by default.
-
Confirm before exiting. This option produces an "Are you sure you
want to exit?" confirmation dialog in order to help prevent closing
CalendarPro by accident. This option is off by default.

My downloaded file lost the file extension. How do I get it back?
If all you see, for example, is a file named "calendar" (instead of "calendar.zip") then you know the
browser somehow caused the file extension to be dropped. To fix this, simply right-click on the file
in Windows Explorer, then choose "Rename" and manually add the ".zip" part back to the file name.
